Rick Lasky Response

This article "the love for the job" was very well written and was clearly expressed through Mr. Laskys writing, it really does make me think twice about going down this career path and if I've made the right decision, i absolutely believe that I have and reading this article insures that decision for me. After reading this article my decision on joining the fire service makes me feel proud that I can be an image people look up to for help and as a mentor, I love helping people and look forward getting on full time at a department hopefully back in my home state in Washington. As well as getting on a wild land crew, as our whole state is practically on fire and I want to be someone who can help those people who have had to evacuate there homes as they burn to the ground. Regarding to Laskys enthusiasm, motivation and his opinions about being a firefighter; like I said in the beginning of this blog reflecting on myself if I think i'm cut out to be a firefighter, I responded by saying "absolutely". After reading Laskys article anyone can see his passion, enthusiasm, motivation and pride he has in being a firefighter, but I think he does a great job in saying its not for everyone that you cant just put on those turnouts and call yourself a firefighter. Mr. Laskys article is great motivation in pursuing my goal as it lays out bullet points of what its like being a firefighter and I want to take that responsibility as well as he did and hundreds of others.
